Hello busker festivals!
This is Mellie! Mellie Meteors! I’m a busker from the Netherlands, based in Berlin, known for a clear falsetto voice and live performances that make the audience feel like they are part of the show and living in the moment.
In the past two years I’ve been participating in busking festivals like Ferrara, Chur and Utcazene, and I discovered that while normal festivals are cool, busking festivals are something completely different. I love it! Performing multiple days, getting to discover amazing international artists and then jamming with them after the shows.. it’s my favourite thing!
So here is my application to have many more of those experiences in 2026!
I moved to Berlin and started busking full time during the pandemic when everything else stopped moving, and quickly gained a little cult following that encouraged me to keep going. Playing at one of Germany’s most iconic busking hotspots, The Berliner Magazine called me their favourite busker of the legendary Mauerpark. I’ve had the honour of collaborating with some busking greats such as Reuben Stone, SCOTT&LILA, Gray Contrast, Borja Catanesi, DeanIsHome and more, and feel comfortable stepping in to drop some vocals or to MC the afterparty.
It is this sense of freedom, connection and improvisation that attracts crowds to stay and listen. In my shows there is always room for the unexpected that happens in the moment, making everyone feel like they are in the here and now. In this way, moments like you see in the videos on the left and right spontaneously occur.
I sing songs of hope. Sometimes happy-go-lucky, sometimes melancholic, but always with a message that things will be alright. My style is indie-rock, with splashes of electro-pop and reggae – and when my trumpet player The Pinch joins some jazz & hiphop – and people remember me for my voice. I can entertain the crowd well enough by myself, but in 2026 I would love to present my music with the full band setup as well where possible. I’m open to both!
Videos of my performances can be seen below and on my socials. I’m looking forward to hear a positive response! Here’s to a big, beautiful, busking 2026!
